A Framework for the Dynamic Presentation of Fused Multimedia Databases

We present a multi-layered framework for the visual presentation of information that results from the fusion of multimedia databases. The visual presentation allows for the dynamic interaction among the views that form that presentation. By manipulating elements in a view, the other views may change dynamically, thus allowing for interactively querying and browsing related database objects. This dynamic interaction is established by the semantic relationships among the objects in the multimedia databases, which originate from the fusion layer and percolate to the presentation layer. Data objects, visual objects, and relationships in each layer of the framework are stored in XML format.
